Flutter developer job description

Three copy-ready templates — mid-level, senior and lead — written for 2026 Flutter roles. Paste one into your careers page, or send it to us as a brief and meet vetted Flutter engineers in 48 hours instead.

Mid-level Flutter engineer

Delivers features independently within established patterns.

About the role
We are hiring a Mid Flutter Engineer to build and maintain production mobile and web features in a remote product team. You will work with product, design, backend, and QA to deliver user-facing flows using Flutter 3.x and Dart 3.x. This role suits someone who can own features end to end with guidance, ask good questions, and write code that is easy to test and review.

What you'll do
Implement Flutter screens, state, navigation, and API integrations for iOS, Android, and possibly web. Handle loading, error, empty, and offline-aware states. Write unit and widget tests, fix bugs from QA and production reports, and participate in code reviews. Work with REST or GraphQL APIs, analytics events, feature flags, and CI checks. Improve existing screens for accessibility, responsiveness, and performance.

What you'll bring
Professional Flutter experience, strong Dart fundamentals, and comfort with async programming. Experience with a state management approach such as Riverpod, Bloc, Cubit, Provider, or similar. Ability to debug layout, build, and runtime issues using Flutter DevTools and platform logs. Clear communication in a remote team.

Nice to have
Experience with go_router, Firebase, integration_test, Widgetbook, golden tests, native plugins, app flavors, or store release workflows.

Senior Flutter engineer

Owns significant areas, sets patterns and mentors.

About the role
We are hiring a Senior Flutter Engineer to own complex app areas and raise the engineering quality of a remote mobile team. You will design feature architecture, guide implementation choices, and help ship reliable Flutter 3.x applications across iOS, Android, and web where appropriate. This role is for someone who can balance product delivery with maintainability, performance, testing, and release risk.

What you'll do
Lead technical design for new flows, including state management, routing, persistence, API integration, error handling, and observability. Review pull requests for architecture, performance, accessibility, and testability. Diagnose production issues using crash reports, logs, traces, and release data. Improve CI, flavors, dependency management, and testing strategy. Mentor other engineers through pairing, design reviews, and pragmatic refactoring rather than large rewrites.

What you'll bring
Deep Flutter and Dart experience, including Dart 3 language features, async patterns, rendering performance, platform constraints, and app lifecycle behavior. Strong judgment with Riverpod, Bloc, or similar tools without letting the tool define the architecture. Experience shipping to app stores and maintaining production apps. Clear written communication and ownership in distributed teams.

Nice to have
Experience with offline-first workflows, native SDK integration, modular monorepos with Melos, Widgetbook, Drift or SQLite, Firebase, Sentry, or phased mobile rollouts.

Lead Flutter engineer

Sets technical direction and leads a team.

About the role
We are hiring a Lead Flutter Engineer to guide the technical direction of a remote app team and remain hands-on with important architecture and delivery work. You will partner with engineering management, product, design, backend, and QA to plan app capabilities, set quality standards, and help engineers make sound trade-offs. The role combines technical leadership, mentoring, delivery planning, and selective implementation of high-impact Flutter work.

What you'll do
Define architecture for Flutter 3.x applications and shared packages, including routing, state boundaries, persistence, design system usage, platform integration, and release strategy. Lead design reviews for major initiatives, break work into deliverable milestones, and identify risks early. Establish practices for testing, accessibility, performance profiling, observability, dependency upgrades, and incident response. Coach engineers through code review and pairing. Coordinate with backend teams on API contracts, offline behavior, and error models.

What you'll bring
Extensive Flutter and Dart experience, production judgment, and a track record of leading mobile delivery without losing touch with code. Ability to explain trade-offs clearly to technical and nontechnical partners. Experience with app store releases, CI/CD, feature flags, crash analytics, and long-lived codebases. Strong mentoring habits and comfort making decisions with incomplete information.

Nice to have
Experience leading design systems, white-label apps, modular monorepos, native plugin development, regulated-domain apps, or cross-platform strategy beyond mobile.
