Three copy-ready templates — mid-level, senior and lead — written for 2026 Next.js roles. Paste one into your careers page, or send it to us as a brief and meet vetted Next.js engineers in 48 hours instead.
Mid-level Next.js engineer
Delivers features independently within established patterns.
About the role We are looking for a Mid-Level Next.js Engineer to build production features across a modern React and Next.js application. You will work with product, design, backend, and QA teammates to deliver user-facing flows that are reliable, accessible, and maintainable. This role suits someone who can own well-defined features and make good implementation decisions with support from senior engineers. What you'll do Build routes and components using Next.js App Router, React, and TypeScript. Implement forms, validation, loading states, error states, and accessible UI behavior. Work with Server Components, Client Components, route handlers, and Server Actions where appropriate. Connect frontend features to APIs and help debug issues across browser, server, and deployment environments. Write tests for important user flows and participate in code reviews. Improve performance by reducing unnecessary client JavaScript, fixing image and font issues, and following established caching patterns. What you'll bring Professional experience building React applications with TypeScript. Working knowledge of Next.js App Router concepts and modern frontend tooling. Good debugging habits, clear communication, and willingness to document trade-offs. Comfort working in a remote team with async updates and code review. Nice to have Experience with React 19 patterns, Prisma or Drizzle, Playwright, Storybook, or Vercel-style preview deployments.
Senior Next.js engineer
Owns significant areas, sets patterns and mentors.
About the role We are hiring a Senior Next.js Engineer to own complex product areas and guide technical decisions in a production Next.js codebase. You will work across feature development, architecture, performance, observability, and developer experience. This role is for someone who can turn ambiguous requirements into a clear plan and help other engineers make better decisions. What you'll do Design and deliver substantial features using Next.js App Router, React, TypeScript, and modern data-fetching patterns. Choose appropriate rendering, caching, and invalidation strategies for personalized, public, and frequently changing data. Review Server Actions, route handlers, authentication flows, and authorization boundaries for correctness and security. Debug production issues involving hydration, server latency, cache behavior, bundle size, and third-party integrations. Set standards for component boundaries, error handling, testing, and observability. Mentor mid-level engineers through pairing, design reviews, and practical code feedback. Collaborate with product and design to manage trade-offs without hiding technical risk. What you'll bring Deep React and Next.js experience, including App Router and React Server Components. Strong TypeScript skills and sound judgment around security, performance, and maintainability. Experience shipping and operating customer-facing web applications. Clear written communication and comfort leading technical discussions remotely. Nice to have Experience with multi-tenant systems, edge middleware, analytics instrumentation, feature flags, or migrations from Pages Router to App Router.
Lead Next.js engineer
Sets technical direction and leads a team.
About the role We are looking for a Lead Next.js Engineer to set technical direction for a remote product engineering team. You will remain hands-on while leading architecture, delivery planning, engineering standards, and cross-functional decision-making. This role is suited to someone who can align engineers around a pragmatic path, reduce system risk, and raise the quality of both code and execution. What you'll do Define the frontend architecture for a Next.js App Router platform, including routing, rendering, caching, state, testing, and observability standards. Lead discovery and delivery for large initiatives that span product, design, backend, data, and platform teams. Make build-versus-buy and Server Action versus API boundary decisions with long-term maintenance in mind. Guide migrations, performance programs, security reviews, and incident follow-up. Create review practices, documentation, and guardrails that help teams move independently without fragmenting the codebase. Coach senior and mid-level engineers, delegate ownership, and give clear technical feedback. Represent engineering trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in plain language. What you'll bring Extensive experience with React, TypeScript, and production Next.js applications. A track record of leading architecture and delivery across multiple engineers or teams. Strong judgment around reliability, security, accessibility, performance, and developer experience. Excellent remote communication, planning, and mentoring skills. Nice to have Experience with regulated data, multi-region deployment, design systems, platform teams, or large-scale Pages Router to App Router migrations.
