About the role
We are hiring a Mid-Level Spring Boot Engineer to build and maintain backend services used by product teams and customer-facing applications. You will work in a remote team, own well-scoped features, and contribute to reliable Java services running in modern cloud environments.

What you'll do
Design and implement REST APIs and background jobs using Spring Boot 3.5/4.0 and Java 21 or later. Work with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases, Spring Data JPA, Flyway or Liquibase, and messaging where needed. Write unit and integration tests with JUnit 5, Mockito, and Testcontainers. Improve observability with Actuator, Micrometer, logs, and traces. Review pull requests, fix production defects, and participate in planning and refinement.

What you'll bring
Commercial experience building Spring Boot services. Good understanding of HTTP APIs, validation, persistence, transactions, and secure configuration. Ability to debug issues using logs, metrics, database queries, and local reproduction. Clear communication in code reviews and technical discussions.

Nice to have

We are hiring a Senior Spring Boot Engineer to own important backend services from design through production operation. You will make technical decisions, guide implementation quality, and help the team evolve APIs, data models, and operational practices without unnecessary complexity.

What you'll do
Design service boundaries, REST and event contracts, persistence models, and migration plans. Build Spring Boot 3.5/4.0 services using Java 21 or later, Spring Security, Spring Data, messaging, and cloud-native deployment patterns. Lead debugging of production issues involving transactions, database performance, latency, and downstream failures. Establish testing approaches with Testcontainers, contract tests, and targeted end-to-end coverage. Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and practical feedback in pull requests.

What you'll bring
Deep experience delivering Spring Boot systems in production. Strong judgment around transaction boundaries, API compatibility, observability, security, and failure handling. Ability to compare trade-offs, explain decisions, and simplify designs. Comfort working with product managers, frontend engineers, platform teams, and stakeholders during planning and incidents.

Nice to have

This is a hands-on leadership role: you will still design and code, while aligning teams on technical direction, delivery risks, and production readiness.

What you'll do
Lead architecture for Spring Boot 3.5/4.0 and Java 21+ services, including service boundaries, security models, data ownership, messaging, observability, and deployment strategy. Drive technical discovery for complex initiatives and turn ambiguity into workable plans. Set standards for API design, testing, incident response, dependency management, and migrations. Review critical designs and pull requests, mentor senior and mid-level engineers, and partner with platform, security, and product leaders. Identify systemic reliability or delivery issues and lead practical improvements.

What you'll bring
Proven experience leading production Spring Boot systems and influencing architecture beyond one repository. Strong judgment in distributed systems, relational data modeling, event-driven design, OAuth2/OIDC, cloud operations, and performance debugging. Ability to coach engineers, communicate trade-offs clearly, and make decisions that balance delivery, maintainability, and risk.

Nice to have
Experience creating internal Spring Boot starters or platform libraries, running architecture forums, modernizing legacy Boot 2.x estates, and working with Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Kafka, Redis, or infrastructure as code.
