Software Developer Rates by Country: Complete Guide
Compare software developer rates by country, hiring model, stack, and timezone so you can budget remote engineering teams with confidence.

Software developer rates by country vary widely because “rate” can mean salary, contractor pay, agency billing, or total employment cost. For planning, use salary-equivalent hourly rates to compare talent markets, then add payroll taxes, benefits, platform fees, vendor margin, timezone needs, and vetting quality before choosing a country.
What does “software developer rates by country” actually mean?
When buyers search for software developer rates by country, they usually want one answer: “What will it cost me to hire a good developer in each market?” The hard part is that four different numbers get mixed together.
A salary is what an employee earns. A contractor rate is what an independent professional invoices. An agency rate is what a vendor bills after adding management, recruiting, bench risk, QA, account support, and margin. A total employment cost is salary plus statutory employer costs, benefits, payroll operations, equipment, paid time off, onboarding, and sometimes an Employer of Record fee.
That distinction matters. A country can look inexpensive on salary but become less attractive if the available talent is junior, the role is hard to fill, or the engagement model adds heavy overhead. Remote’s 2025 recruiting report analyzed role supply, demand, salaries, hiring difficulty, AI impact, and experience across 34 countries and 25 roles using Horsefly data; for software engineers, it reports a global average salary of $53,880.87 and a difficulty-to-hire score of 7 on a 1–10 scale. Remote Recruiting Report
For this guide, “rate” means the buyer-facing cost you should budget. We use salary-equivalent hourly rates for apples-to-apples comparison, then show where agency and EOR pricing change the answer. Salary-equivalent hourly rate is calculated as annual salary divided by 2,080 working hours, or 40 hours × 52 weeks. It is not a promise that you can hire a senior contractor at that number.

How much do software developers cost by country?
Use the table below as a planning benchmark, not a final offer sheet. The salary figures come from Remote’s recruiting report for the Software Engineer role. The agency-rate column comes from Clutch’s 2026 custom software development pricing guide where Clutch publishes a country band. For countries where Clutch does not publish a band on that page, the table leaves the agency rate blank rather than inventing one.
| Country | Avg. software engineer salary | Salary-equivalent hourly | Hiring difficulty | Experience: talent with 8+ years | Published agency hourly band |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $131,312 | $63/hr | 8 | 60% | $50–$99/hr |
| Canada | $62,988 | $30/hr | 3 | 64% | $100–$149/hr |
| United Kingdom | $61,394 | $30/hr | 8 | 62% | Unknown on Clutch guide |
| Germany | $65,750 | $32/hr | 7 | 63% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
| Netherlands | $65,736 | $32/hr | 5 | 76% | Not listed on Clutch guide |

| Denmark | $90,043 | $43/hr | 6 | 84% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
| Australia | $68,468 | $33/hr | 7 | 77% | $100–$149/hr |
| Mexico | $29,841 | $14/hr | 6 | 45% | $25–$49/hr |
| Brazil | $29,123 | $14/hr | 3 | 58% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
| Spain | $35,648 | $17/hr | 5 | 76% | $25–$49/hr |
| Portugal | $39,524 | $19/hr | 4 | 77% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
| South Africa | $50,564 | $24/hr | 8 | 61% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
| India | $10,379 | $5/hr | 7 | 35% | $25–$49/hr |
| Philippines | $21,759 | $10/hr | 7 | 64% | $25–$49/hr |
| Japan | $64,954 | $31/hr | 6 | 53% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
| Singapore | $56,389 | $27/hr | 7 | 48% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
| Norway | $67,665 | $33/hr | 10 | 76% | Not listed on Clutch guide |
Two patterns jump out.
First, salary-equivalent rates are much lower than agency billing rates. That is normal. A salary benchmark excludes vendor margin, recruiting cost, management, idle time, account support, and risk. Clutch reports that software development companies on its platform most often charge $25–$49/hr, while custom software projects reviewed on Clutch commonly fall in the $10,000–$49,000 project-cost range. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide
Second, the lowest salary country is not automatically the best hiring country. Remote reports India has 2,275,663 available software-engineer candidates versus 2,297,097 in the United States, but India’s reported 35% share of talent with 8+ years of experience is materially lower than the United States at 60%. Remote Recruiting Report
Why do developer rates differ so much between countries?
The simple answer is local compensation. The better answer is that country rates reflect a stack of market variables.
Local wage floors and local opportunity cost. Developers do not price themselves against a global spreadsheet. They price against strong local employers, regional startups, multinationals, remote-first companies, and currency stability. In the United States, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported 1,687,890 software developer jobs, a mean hourly wage of $71.20, and a mean annual wage of $148,100 in May 2025. BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics
Supply and demand. A large talent pool can still be competitive if many employers are hiring the same skill set. Remote gives the U.S. software-engineer market a difficulty score of 8, India 7, Germany 7, and Canada 3. That means Canada may be easier to hire in despite a higher salary benchmark than India. Remote Recruiting Report
Seniority mix. A country with many junior developers can look cheap until you need staff-level judgment, architecture ownership, incident response, security depth, or product thinking. Remote reports that 84% of Denmark’s software-engineer talent pool has 8+ years of relevant experience, compared with 45% in Mexico and 35% in India. Remote Recruiting Report
Engagement model. Direct employee, independent contractor, staff augmentation, managed agency, and EOR employment are different products. You are not just buying coding hours; you are buying risk allocation. Clutch’s 2026 pricing guide shows U.S. development companies at $50–$99/hr, Canada and Australia at $100–$149/hr, and India, the Philippines, Ukraine, Spain, and Mexico at $25–$49/hr. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide
Compliance and payroll burden. Salary is not total cost. Terminal’s remote engineering salary report notes that mandatory benefits and employment taxes can vary widely, citing Latin American employment costs from 9% in Chile to 40% in Costa Rica. Terminal Remote Engineer Salary Insights Report
Remote-work competition. Stack Overflow’s 2025 survey shows how pay gaps widen for higher-paid roles: engineering managers report a median of $200,000 in the U.S., $118,000 in Germany, and $52,000 in India. That gap affects senior IC compensation too, because experienced engineers often benchmark against management and architect paths. Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2025
Salary vs contractor vs agency: which “rate” should you compare?
Never compare a local salary to a vendor invoice and call it savings. Compare model to model.
| Hiring model | What the rate includes | Best for | Watch-outs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct employee through local entity | Salary, local payroll, statutory benefits, company benefits, management | Long-term core team in a strategic country | Requires entity, local HR, payroll, terminations, tax, benefits, and legal support |
| EOR employee | Salary plus EOR service fee, statutory administration, local employment support | First hires in a new country, cross-border employment without entity | Still need to budget employer costs, benefits, equipment, management, and country-specific rules |
| Independent contractor | Invoice rate for scoped work or ongoing capacity | Specialized work, fractional support, flexible projects | Misclassification, IP assignment, availability, and retention risk |
| Staff augmentation | Vendor-billed hourly or monthly rate for named talent | Scaling delivery while keeping product direction in-house | Vendor margin, replacement rules, quality variance, onboarding discipline |
| Managed agency | Blended team rate or project fee | Outcome-based build, redesign, migration, MVP, support pod | Less control over individual talent, scope-change risk |
| Marketplace freelance | Individual hourly or fixed-price work | Small tasks, prototypes, maintenance | Screening burden, inconsistent availability, security review |
EOR pricing is a good example of why total cost matters. Remote states that its EOR pricing is $599/month when paid annually or $699/month when paid monthly. Remote Employer of Record On an annual plan, that is $7,188/year before salary, employer contributions, benefits, and equipment.
Agency pricing is also not the same as salary. Clutch reports that experienced software developers on its marketplace often cost $10,000–$49,000 per project and that the most common hourly software development company band is $25–$49/hr. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide If a country’s salary-equivalent rate is $14/hr but reputable vendors bill $25–$49/hr, the difference is not automatically waste; it may fund recruiting, project management, bench coverage, delivery oversight, and replacement capacity.
This is where pre-vetted networks can help. OctogleHire, for example, is one way to compare remote engineers without building every sourcing and screening workflow yourself; if you care most about signal quality, read more on how technical vetting works before you compare quotes.
Which countries are best for U.S. companies hiring remote developers?
There is no universal best country. The best market depends on overlap, stack, seniority, budget, English fluency, domain complexity, and whether you want employees or contractors.
Latin America: best for timezone overlap
Mexico and Brazil are the obvious starting points for U.S. teams. Remote reports average software-engineer salaries of $29,841 in Mexico and $29,123 in Brazil. Mexico’s reported hiring difficulty is 6, while Brazil’s is 3; Brazil also shows a higher share of talent with 8+ years of experience at 58% versus Mexico’s 45%. Remote Recruiting Report
For U.S. engineering leaders, the main advantage is working-day overlap. Daily standups, pairing, customer escalations, and product reviews are easier when the engineer is online during your core hours. The trade-off is that nearshore talent often commands a collaboration premium versus equally skilled offshore developers in markets with less overlap.
If your stack is frontend-heavy, start with hire React developers, hire TypeScript developers, or the practical Latin America React hiring guide linked earlier.
Eastern Europe and Portugal: best for strong engineering depth with partial overlap
Clutch lists Poland at $50–$99/hr for custom software development companies, while Ukraine appears at $25–$49/hr in the same 2026 pricing guide. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide Remote does not publish Poland or Ukraine in its software-engineer salary table, but it does report Portugal at $39,524, Spain at $35,648, and Germany at $65,750. Remote Recruiting Report
This region is strong for backend, data, DevOps, QA automation, enterprise systems, and complex migrations. U.S. teams usually get morning overlap with Europe, which is enough for async-first teams but not ideal for constant pairing.
For backend and infrastructure roles, compare hire Node.js developers, hire Python developers, hire Java developers, hire AWS developers, and hire Kubernetes developers.
India: best for scale, broad stacks, and mature delivery ecosystems
India is the classic offshore software market because of depth and breadth. Remote reports 2,275,663 available software-engineer candidates in India, nearly the same scale as the United States at 2,297,097. Remote Recruiting Report
The salary benchmark is low: Remote reports $10,379 average salary for software engineers in India, or about $5/hr on a salary-equivalent basis. Remote Recruiting Report But the buyer-facing rate for a credible vendor is higher: Clutch lists India custom software development companies at $25–$49/hr. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide
India works best when you have clear architecture, strong product management, and enough internal engineering leadership to absorb timezone distance. It is less ideal when your team needs constant synchronous collaboration with U.S. product managers.
Philippines and Southeast Asia: best for support-heavy engineering and cost control
Remote reports the Philippines at $21,759 average software-engineer salary, $10/hr salary-equivalent, with 64% of the software-engineer talent pool having 8+ years of experience. Remote Recruiting Report Clutch lists the Philippines at $25–$49/hr for custom software development companies. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide
The Philippines can be strong for web development, QA, support engineering, WordPress, Shopify, and operationally clear workstreams. For deep platform architecture or niche distributed systems, screen heavily and benchmark against regional alternatives.
South Africa: best for English fluency and partial U.S./Europe overlap
Remote reports South Africa’s average software-engineer salary at $50,564, with a hiring difficulty score of 8 and 61% of talent showing 8+ years of relevant experience. Remote Recruiting Report
South Africa can be attractive for companies that want strong English communication and better overlap with Europe than Asia provides. For U.S. teams, overlap is better on East Coast mornings than West Coast afternoons.
North America and Western Europe: best for seniority, customer proximity, and regulated work
The United States remains the highest-cost baseline in many datasets. BLS reports a U.S. software developer mean annual wage of $148,100 and mean hourly wage of $71.20 in May 2025. BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics Remote’s software-engineer table reports U.S. average salary at $131,312, Canada at $62,988, the U.K. at $61,394, Germany at $65,750, and the Netherlands at $65,736. Remote Recruiting Report
Use these markets when you need senior product judgment, regulated industry context, customer-facing engineers, security clearance constraints, or tight collaboration with executive stakeholders. Do not use them if your only goal is cost reduction.
How do you estimate the real cost of a remote developer?
A useful budget has three layers.
Layer one: base pay. Start with a country and role benchmark. For example, Remote’s average software-engineer salary is $131,312 in the United States, $62,988 in Canada, $29,841 in Mexico, $29,123 in Brazil, and $10,379 in India. Remote Recruiting Report
Layer two: employment or vendor wrapper. If you hire through an EOR, add the EOR fee. Remote publishes $599/month on an annual plan and $699/month on a monthly plan. Remote Employer of Record If you hire through an agency, use the vendor’s hourly or monthly bill rate. Clutch’s 2026 guide shows U.S. custom software development companies at $50–$99/hr, Canada and Australia at $100–$149/hr, and India, Mexico, Spain, Ukraine, and the Philippines at $25–$49/hr. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide
Layer three: operating cost. Add laptop, security tooling, onboarding, paid time off, management time, code review time, meetings, documentation, payroll administration, and replacement risk. These are real costs even when they are not shown on an invoice.
Here is a simple EOR-style illustration using Remote’s salary data plus Remote’s annual-plan EOR fee. It excludes employer taxes, benefits, equipment, bonuses, equity, recruiting fees, and local statutory costs, so treat it as a floor, not a final budget.
| Country | Salary benchmark | Annual EOR fee at $599/month | Illustrative annual floor | When it may fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $131,312 | $7,188 | $138,500 | Senior product engineering, regulated work, customer proximity |
| Canada | $62,988 | $7,188 | $70,176 | North American collaboration with lower salary benchmark than U.S. |
| Mexico | $29,841 | $7,188 | $37,029 | Nearshore overlap for U.S. teams |
| Brazil | $29,123 | $7,188 | $36,311 | Large LatAm talent pool and product-team overlap |
| India | $10,379 | $7,188 | $17,567 | Cost-sensitive scale with strong internal management |
This table intentionally separates salary from the employment wrapper. If you roll everything into one hourly vendor rate, ask what is included: paid time off, replacement, security review, account management, payroll, benefits, holidays, equipment, IP assignment, and tax compliance.
How do rates change by role, stack, and seniority?
Country is only one axis. Role and seniority can move the number as much as geography.
Remote’s role-level data shows that AI engineers have a global average salary of $57,455.50, while software engineers average $53,880.87 and web developers average $49,599.87 across its analyzed markets. Remote Recruiting Report In the United States, Remote reports AI engineer salary at $147,077, software engineer at $131,312, and web developer at $121,296. Remote Recruiting Report
That spread is rational. AI engineers, MLOps specialists, security engineers, performance-focused backend engineers, and senior cloud engineers face tighter market supply. CRUD-heavy web development, CMS work, and well-scoped QA automation usually have broader supply.
Stack also changes screening difficulty. Hiring a React developer is not the same as hiring a React developer who can own accessibility, frontend performance, design systems, API contracts, and production observability. Hiring a Python developer is not the same as hiring a Python developer who can operate ML pipelines, data orchestration, and cloud infrastructure.
Use role-specific funnels:
- For frontend product velocity, compare React developers, Next.js developers, and Vue.js developers.
- For backend systems, compare Node.js developers, Python developers, Java developers, and Go developers.
- For cloud and platform work, compare DevOps engineers, AWS developers, Terraform developers, and site reliability engineers.
- For AI work, compare AI engineers, machine learning engineers, and OpenAI API developers.
Seniority is the hidden multiplier. A senior engineer should reduce ambiguity, not just ship tickets. If the project has unclear requirements, legacy code, distributed systems, security risk, or revenue impact, paying more for seniority can lower total cost by reducing rework.
How should you choose a country for remote software development?
Start with the work, then choose the market. Do not start with the cheapest column.
Use this decision table.
| If your priority is... | Favor these markets | Why |
|---|---|---|
| U.S. working-day overlap | Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Canada | Easier standups, pairing, incident response, and product feedback |
| Lowest vendor billing range | India, Philippines, Ukraine, Spain, Mexico | Clutch lists these countries at $25–$49/hr for custom software development companies. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide |
| Senior European engineering depth | Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Portugal, Spain, Poland | Strong backend, cloud, data, enterprise, and product engineering pools |
| English-first collaboration with Europe overlap | South Africa, U.K., Ireland | Good communication fit for distributed product teams |
| Regulated or customer-facing engineering | United States, Canada, U.K., Germany, Netherlands | Easier legal, customer, security, and domain alignment for many companies |
| Fast scale across broad stacks | India, Brazil, United States, Philippines | Remote reports large software-engineer pools in the U.S., India, Brazil, and the Philippines. Remote Recruiting Report |
Then apply a practical filter:
- Overlap: Can the engineer work at least a meaningful shared block with your product and engineering leads?
- Seniority: Does the market have enough developers who have already solved your class of problem?
- Vetting: Can you validate architecture, communication, debugging, security habits, and ownership?
- Compliance: Can you employ or contract correctly without creating tax, IP, or misclassification risk?
- Retention: Are you paying enough to keep strong people once global employers notice them?
- Management capacity: Do you have internal leads who can onboard remote engineers well?
If you are still deciding between platforms or hiring models, compare options with OctogleHire alternatives and comparisons, direct hiring, Upwork-style marketplaces, and Toptal-style networks.
What are the biggest mistakes when comparing developer rates by country?
Mistake one: comparing salary to agency bill rate. A salary-equivalent hourly number of $14/hr in Brazil or Mexico is not the same thing as a managed vendor rate. Remote salary data and Clutch agency data answer different questions. Remote Recruiting Report Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide
Mistake two: optimizing for the cheapest country instead of the cheapest successful outcome. A low hourly rate loses value if you need more management, rewrites, QA, security remediation, or architecture rescue.
Mistake three: ignoring compliance. Remote surveyed 4,126 business and HR leaders and found that 77% had faced issues with international labor laws in the prior six months. Remote Recruiting Report That is a warning for companies treating global contractors as a paperwork shortcut.
Mistake four: underestimating flexibility as a retention lever. Remote’s survey reports that 73% of hiring leaders said they had lost employees to companies offering greater flexibility. Remote Recruiting Report If your remote offer is rigid, strong developers can often find another remote employer.
Mistake five: assuming AI makes senior engineers optional. Stack Overflow’s 2025 survey found 49,000+ responses from 177 countries and reports that AI tooling is now a major theme, but the same survey still shows large compensation premiums for engineering leadership and senior roles. Stack Overflow Developer Survey 2025 Stack Overflow Work Section
Mistake six: skipping technical vetting. A cheaper hourly rate with weak screening can become expensive quickly. For remote roles, vet for async writing, code review behavior, production debugging, test discipline, product judgment, and security awareness. OctogleHire’s developer vetting topic is a useful starting point if you are designing your own process.
What should your hiring process look like after you pick a country?
A good country choice only gets you into the right market. The hiring process still decides whether you get a productive engineer.
Define the work as outcomes, not keywords
Do not write “React developer needed” and stop there. Write the outcomes: migrate a legacy frontend, improve Core Web Vitals, build a design system, ship a B2B dashboard, reduce cloud spend, stabilize payments, or build a data ingestion pipeline.
Add operating context: codebase age, team size, release cadence, cloud provider, testing culture, security expectations, on-call needs, and timezone requirements.
Choose the engagement model before sourcing
If the role is core to your product roadmap, favor employee or long-term staff augmentation. If the work is a bounded migration, a contractor or agency may fit. If the country is strategic and you expect to hire more people there, consider whether a local entity makes sense later.
For flexible engagements, OctogleHire supports full-time, part-time, and contract hiring with no long-term lock-in. If you want a broader starting point, review hire remote developers or browse available developer roles.
Build a realistic compensation band
Use country benchmarks as a floor, then adjust for seniority, stack, English communication, domain expertise, overlap, and urgency. If you are hiring a senior backend engineer who can own architecture and mentor others, do not benchmark against a junior web developer average.
Screen for the work you actually need
A good process usually includes:
- portfolio or production-system review;
- live technical discussion, not trivia;
- work-sample exercise tied to your stack;
- code review or debugging task;
- async writing sample;
- communication and ownership interview;
- reference or prior-delivery validation for senior roles.
For more structure, use the inside our vetting process page as a checklist for what strong remote screening should cover.
Close with clarity
Global candidates often compare multiple offers. Be clear about pay, payment currency, holidays, equipment, working hours, meeting load, contract type, benefits, probation terms, and review cycles. Ambiguity slows acceptance and increases early churn.
Country-by-country cheat sheet for common hiring goals
Use this as a quick shortlist, then validate against your stack and seniority needs.
| Hiring goal | Countries to shortlist | Budget signal | Main risk to manage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Build a nearshore product pod for a U.S. startup | Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina | Mexico and Brazil both show salary benchmarks near $29k in Remote’s software-engineer table. Remote Recruiting Report | Competition for senior bilingual talent |
| Add backend capacity with strong async culture | Portugal, Spain, Poland, Germany, Netherlands | Remote reports Portugal at $39,524, Spain at $35,648, Germany at $65,750, and the Netherlands at $65,736. Remote Recruiting Report | Partial U.S. overlap and regional salary variance |
| Scale delivery at lower vendor rates | India, Philippines, Ukraine | Clutch lists India, the Philippines, and Ukraine at $25–$49/hr for custom software development companies. Clutch Software Development Pricing Guide | Vetting, management load, and timezone distance |
| Hire senior customer-facing engineers | United States, Canada, U.K., Germany | BLS reports U.S. mean software developer pay at $148,100, while Remote reports Canada at $62,988 and the U.K. at $61,394. BLS Remote | High competition and higher total cost |
| Build AI or ML capability | U.S., Canada, Germany, U.K., India, Brazil | Remote reports U.S. AI engineer salary at $147,077, Germany at $73,868, Canada at $68,445, and India at $13,790. Remote Recruiting Report | Scarcity, inflated titles, and weak production ML experience |
The main lesson: rates by country help you set expectations, but they do not replace role calibration. A strong senior engineer in a lower-cost market may cost more than the country average and still be the best hire.
Next steps
If you are budgeting a remote engineering hire, start with three numbers: salary benchmark, buyer-facing rate, and total operating cost. Then choose the country that gives you the best combination of overlap, seniority, compliance, and retention.
Use the tables above to create a shortlist, then validate candidates through real technical work. If you want help comparing vetted remote engineers across markets, OctogleHire can provide a hand-picked shortlist of vetted engineers within 48 hours, with flexible full-time, part-time, or contract engagements and a replacement guarantee. Frequently asked questions
What country has the cheapest software developers?+
India often appears among the lowest-cost large markets in salary datasets, while the Philippines, Ukraine, Spain, and Mexico commonly show lower agency billing bands than North America. Cheapest does not mean best. Compare seniority, timezone overlap, English communication, compliance, and vetting quality before choosing a country.
What is a good hourly rate for a remote software developer?+
A good rate depends on hiring model. Salary-equivalent hourly rates can be low in many countries, but contractor and agency bill rates are higher because they include margin, administration, risk, and sometimes management. For serious production work, compare against vetted talent in the same stack and seniority level, not a generic country average.
Are developer rates by country the same as salaries?+
No. Salary is employee compensation. A developer rate may mean contractor invoice rate, agency bill rate, staff augmentation rate, or total employment cost. Salary benchmarks are useful for market comparison, but buyer-facing rates must include payroll costs, benefits, compliance, vendor margin, equipment, and management overhead.
Which country is best for hiring developers in U.S. time zones?+
Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Canada are usually the strongest starting points for U.S. timezone overlap. Mexico and Brazil are especially common nearshore choices because they combine large talent pools with easier synchronous collaboration than Asia or Eastern Europe.
Why are agency rates higher than local developer salaries?+
Agency rates include more than developer pay. Vendors may cover recruiting, project management, QA, bench time, account support, replacement risk, payroll operations, software tooling, and profit margin. A higher bill rate can be worthwhile if the vendor reduces hiring time, management load, and delivery risk.
Should I hire contractors or employees for remote developers?+
Use contractors for scoped, flexible, or specialist work. Use employees or long-term staff augmentation for core product roles, roadmap ownership, and institutional knowledge. If you hire internationally without a local entity, consider compliance carefully because contractor misclassification, IP assignment, and tax rules vary by country.
How do I compare developer rates across countries fairly?+
Normalize the role, seniority, stack, timezone overlap, English requirements, and engagement model. Compare salary to salary, contractor rate to contractor rate, and agency rate to agency rate. Then add total operating costs such as benefits, employer taxes, EOR fees, equipment, onboarding, and management time.
